What's The Point?
About us
The Point is a place and a time for young adults (18-35) to gather and ask deep questions about life and meaning. We meet on the 2nd Friday of the month at 7pm at St. Joseph's Basilica.
Mission
To provide a place for young adults to find a comfortable atmosphere in which they can pray and learn about the Catholic faith in an accessible way with a community of people.
What We Believe
We confess fidelity and faithfulness to the historic and apostolic teachings of The Holy Catholic Church founded upon the rock, St. Peter and his successors. This statement summarizes our moral and theological beliefs while the following may help to describe our approach to ministry and community building.
We believe that much can be discovered in the sum of small decisions we are able to make on a daily basis. If you take simple and profound decisions each of us can make and multiply it by the number of people who are able to make them, you have the potential for something great. We believe that this is a great image of the Church. A group of people who have combined each others small decisions to care about the lives of others by showing love, compassion, charity, and kindness with their actions and words with the result being the largest movement in all of human history. A group who has remembered that life is about people and not stuff and at the heart of it all, there is a God of wonder who has set the stage so that we are constantly reminded of these things. Two thousand years later, people are still making those decisions and we want to be a place where you can be encouraged to do the same, all the while, discovering the God who is behind it all.
