Friday Nights

Our Friday night sessions run once a month, from September to May, on the second Friday of the month. The sessions feature a coffee house style atmosphere with a variety of seating options. You can grab a table closer to the front or a chair in rows closer to the back; whatever you're comfortable with. And that's something we really emphasize at The Point. We work really hard at creating an environment where a diverse selection of people with any number of creeds can come together and be exposed to Catholic Christianity in an unexpected way. You don't have to know any responses or prayers and we will never single you out if you're new or newer (or if you're a regular for that matter). There's no mandatory participation. You can come and involve yourself as much or as little in the session as you like. It's one of the few opportunities you might have to bring someone who is unfamiliar with the Church or Christianity to an event where they can be introduced to it in an accessible and comfortable way.

friday-nights

The nights feature a set of prayerful music by our house band, a break to get comfortable or grab a drink and then a speaker who addresses a topic that is relevant and pressing to our culture and especially to young adults. We labour to make the curriculum of the talks evangelistic in nature, but also catechetical so that confirmed Christians can be inspired and encouraged in their faith. We also place an emphasis on many of the common questions that young adults and people outside of the Church often have about Christianity without shying away from objections. After the talk, there is time to hang out, grab a drink (free coffee), and shake a few hands.
